Unexpected events always happen. They always take place during unexpected times. This is the main reason why a data disaster recovery plan is important. Any business and organization can experience a serious type of incident. One thing that can happen during this scenario is the loss of very important data that may bring the normal operations of the business to an end.

Data disaster recovery basically is about the process, policies and procedures of restoring operations critical and very vital to the resumption of any business. This includes the process of regaining access to data such as records, hardware and software, communications system including incoming calls, outgoing, toll-free and fax. It may also be about recovering the workspace and other business processes.
The loss or destruction of the matters mentioned above may be caused by either a natural or human induced disaster. It may be due to a flood, explosion, earthquake, computer malfunction, human error, etc.

To be able to have an effective data disaster recovery plan, a well organized committee must be assigned to work on it. Of course, it is good to hope for the better and to think that nothing negative will turn out. But as always, we can never be sure. A data disaster recovery plan can play a major role in preventing the total destruction of your organization.
